Dog Fighting Culturally Acceptable in South

Whoopi Goldberg made such an excellent comment regarding Michael Vick and where he grew up in the South. She stated that dog fighting is still culturally acceptable. He probably didn't realize it was wrong. Michael Vick is young and he pleaded guilty. He is talented and after he serves his time and or probation, I feel he should be able to play in the NFL again. Whoopi really opened my eyes today. Please share your view.

I personally don't think he's sorry either. The worst part is he is playing again and with the Philadelphia Eagles and this is the team that is big in PA where I live. I don't know what Andy Reid was thinking. I have 3 dogs now and my son's dad's pitbull visits all the time. She's a sweetie and this gives pits a bad name! Let's not forget that he drowned and executed dogs that couldn't perform. He also had a female dog over bred and she has problems to this day and had her teeth extracted.

I live in the south... and saying dog fighting is "culturally acceptable" is pretty bold and not at all true.

But guess what? Drugs are also "culturally acceptable" to many people but that doesnt make it any less illegal does it?

Even if he didnt think what he was doing was wrong he KNEW it was atleast illegal.

Oh please, dog fighting is ILLEGAL and been ILLEGAL since the early 1900's. He didn't get enough time, and please give me a friggin break, he's a multi millionaire and doesn't need to dog fight to make money. Another thing you should think about is the poor dogs and the pain and suffering they had to go through. Why don't you look and see what these dogs have to go through and repeat your statement then. It is ignorant statements such as this one that perpetuates animal suffering on a global basis. Vick should never be allowed back in the NFL. If it were up to me he would never see the day of light again. You obviously don't own a dog... If you do I feel sorry for it.
