Thanks for the video, but just curious as to why no bite block was used and no pulling up to check for airway compliance?

@MatthewKassis It's a supraglottic airway dude. the distal end goes into the esophagus and the distal cuff inflates to block it off.

@MatthewKassis King LT does not go into the trachea.

Thank you for the demonstration. My agency is switching from combi tubes to the king lt airway. Looks a lot easier

Very cool! I just read part of a study talking about interruption of chest compressions during CPR, and intubation attempts with a normal ET tube were the prime culprit. In one case there were nine attempts to intubate, in another the medic spent almost 4 minutes in one attempt. Obviously chest compressions are not going on during that time! I think the Combitube and King LT are, in general, far better than ET tubes for prehospital.

Very good demonstration well shot and timing. Oregon indicates lubing on the anterior side of the tube keeping lubricant away from the airway.

pretty good but you probably shouldn't lubricate the ventilation holes, this may hinder your ventilations.

Ok so how come you were able to do that blind? ie. not visualize the vocal cords
MatthewKassis 1 year ago
@MatthewKassis It is a blind insertion airway so visualization of the vocal cords is not necessary.
