EGL HT-400 wind turbine 400W. Wind speed at time of video was greater than 30mph.

Low frequency noise is the wind against video camera's microphone. High frequency noise is from the spinning rotors, which is very quiet compared to other wind turbines.

  • How do the output cables run through the tower without twisting up? Are there slip rings in there?

  • There is brush and slip rings inside so that the top part is free to rotate 360 degrees. Cables in the axis stay fixed.

  • What is the output of that thing loaded?

    Spins like an MFR!

    Cool!

  • This is a 400W wind turbine. Its rated power is at 12 m/s or 43 km/h wind speeds.
