Sounds unappetizing huh? Well, its actually an awesome way to save leftover wine or that cheap bottle of wine someone brought over (not mentioning names!) Mulled simply means "heated with spices."
How did I get into mulling wine you ask? (This also works with cider. Ill post a recipe in the Fall) I graduated college and good wine wasnt an option. Wed buy the magnums and dare I say boxed wine and never finish them; so, rather than throw the wine out, Id throw in my own mix of spices and have a great batch of this stuff. I can guarantee two things; most of you didnt know what mulling was and I was probably the only 23 year old guy throwing spices into wine. Again, what a great way to save! When you grow up in a Colombian family, you know not to waste what can easily be made into something else. The recipe: Poached Pears in Spiced Red Wine. These pears are simmered in red wine, sugar, & cinnamon. They become red, translucent, and full of wine flavor in the end. They are extremely versatile and work in a wide range of dishes. Use it on a salad, as a side, over dessert, for breakfast over granola, I could keep going on, but be creative and use it how you want to.
Sliced pears.... NO! completely spoils the look of a classic dessert!!

why did you chopped the pears ?
It would be better if you just pealed the pears and poach it not chop it.
Any way nice video
