That's fine by me! Gasp at how inflation has affected prices of Jacob's Club 5-pack, Edam Cheese and packs of 80 tea bags! Recorded from Channel 4 in May 1986, when men never visited supermarkets.

  • Only women shopped in Supermarkets in the 1980s, apparently.

  • This ad really grates. The soft MOR voice-over and the women-only shoppers! But fascinating to see how they showed what supermarkets were like in the 80s

  • I worked for them and the pay was anything but fine by me

  • More like "Oh, It's Alright I Guess Fare"

  • The point about this advert consisting of only women got me thinking. Looking at supermarket adverts of today the vast majority only show women shoppers just like this one. Perhaps things have changed less than we like to think!

  • hahahaha

  • @halsalli "That’s fine my me" These days these ladies would be career women with stale eggs!

  • it's fine by me,, yeah but is it fine by us?? teehee

  • I used to go to the Banbury branch

  • OMG - I used to get dragged round the local fine fare years ago.
