This is the prequel to a short lunchtime tour vid of Sydney/NSW places of government. Herein a tour of Hyde Park Barracks, a former jail for convicts during colonial times in 19th century Australia. In later years it conveniently doubled as a law court.

  • thank good for the rats lol.....thx, Saint. Always enjoy architectural ruins and all and this is a nicely done tour.. have you the TV show in Oz where they tour underground sites? Quite captivating it is and one sees places otherwise unseen to many of us.

  • The rats turned out to be handy kiddies didn't they.? They were native rats too I believe, soon to be elbowed out by European black rats. I know the show you speak of. I haven't watched it though - might be on pay tv. I shall check it out asap. I love anything like that. :)

  • Yessss...mummified corpses for the pleasure of the viewing public. From death they moved swiftly to rotting corpses, but not before salt and lack of air preserved them in their tomb forever... . Heeee hehehe. :O

  • Those dolls were corpses? They still look like dolls, don't they? Eww. Hard to deal with those; I could deal with skeletons but not that.

  • Most of the South was laid completely waste during the War for Southern Independence. There are some places left that were spared and some archeology sites for town areas. But not many.

  • It's a deal!! :)

  • Bring the beer .. I'll get the grub ready :)

  • Right now I have a handful of peanuts to be washed down with a Heineken. Deviled eggs, ham and cheese sounds much better to me. :)

  • Hungry? Hmmmmm, I'm going for deviled eggs and ham and wine and cheese, you?

  • No, what the rats found were found many years later by the excavaters and archaeologists and kept as artifacts. She didn't eloborate but I assume she meant nick nacks like shoe strings, nails..whatever. :)
