This is my 1979 Dodge Adventurer 100SE Long bed. 318 V8, 727 TorqueFlite auto, with original Carter 2bbl carb. Just a quick video of the truck and the engine idlling.

  • engine looks small in that bay. haha big truck

  • Imagine how small the 6 cylinder must look in it! When this truck was designed it was made to be able to fit engines ranging from the little 'ol slant 6, to the big 440 V8.

  • the 440 must have some damn power!!

  • It sure did, but they dropped that from the trucks for 1977 or so because of emissions. The biggest you could get in '79 was the 360.

  • 318's are bullet proof

  • on nice you know if it had a 4 bbl like our 78 dodge van with a 318 (my dad put a 4 bbl on there) it would have a lot more power!!!

  • my old nieghbour used to have a late 70s adventurer also, mabey it was a 79 too, looked the same but white. he had the 440 in it, 38s and i think it had a ford rear axel and a chev front. weird, but it had some balls!

  • get a big 440 v8 :D

  • lol its only like 9000km on it
