@gameshowluvr86 They probably did that because nighttime Wheel was on CBS O&Os while the daytime version was on NBC, and they didn't want to confuse anyone.

@zachhoran You're right, Dick Carson did retire in 1999. I remember that they announced his retirement on the Friday episode of "Wheel Goes to the Movies" week. At the end of that episode, he was with Pat and Vanna saying that he was retiring.
