Part 1 of Kissmet's gig in the Rainforests of Borneo, July 2011.

Songs: Why Oi!, Jaan, Whole Lotta Nachna...

An amazing journey, Kissmet created a storm in the jungle and had a massive party with 1000's of Malaysians and people from all over the world.

The Rainforest World Music Festival has been voted one of the Top 25 International Festivals on the planet and Kissmet was proud to be asked to perform the Headline slot, closing the festival.

The band was voted "Band of the Festival" by several publications and here are some snippets of the reviews:

Time Out, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - "Our ultimate favourite was Kissmet -- you've got to have the knack (and guts) to coalesce Bhangra with Led Zeppelin guitar shredding."

The Star of Malaysia - "None induced as much frenzy or screaming as bhangra-rock band Kissmet. Marrying the beat-heavy Punjabi folk music with guitar riffs and wails, the British act was the perfect finale for a festival that saw the coming together of the traditional and the cutting edge."

The Borneo Post - "But it was the closing act by bhangra-rock fusion band Kissmet from the UK which many of the audience members stayed to watch despite the approaching midnight hour. Over the course of two days, the group had created a buzz about their music during various workshop sessions, and this had whetted festival goers' appetite for more. The group did not disappoint, unleashing a wall of infectious rhythm and electric keyboard and guitar driven dance music which set the appreciative crowd off into a moshing and singing frenzy."

The Jakarta Post - "Kissmet, was all about high energy beats and soaring grooves, which descended on the crowd like a house on fire. Led by brothers Ron and Buzz Singh, of Sikh descent, the band's crowd-pleasing set also included fierce guitar riffs to end the festival on wild note."

Bangkok Post - "Kissmet's hard beats quickly captured the crowd's attention and the two brothers with their infectious stage presence worked the audience perfectly."

Juice - "Bhangra rock fusion band Kissmet consisted of 2 Sikh brothers and a band that fused traditional Bhangra songs with rock songs, inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. They weren't joking when they said that they make thousands get off their feet to dance anywhere in the world. So when we saw them close the festival on Sunday night, we wished their set wasn't so short!" -

New Straits Times - "Kissmet took partygoers on a rollercoaster ride with pulsating Punjabi folk vocalisations and beats on the dhol and tabla, melded to raw and edgy rhythms."
