Shows how well the DAS 3 keyboard copes when more than 6 keys are held down. Normally USB keyboards can only deal with 6 keys held down. The DAS 3 claims it can deal with up to 12.
In this video I show how well this works. I press and hold keys 1 to 6, then release 1 to 6. Then I do the same for keys 1 to 8. Up to 6 keys works normally. But as soon as 7 or more are pressed, there is a strobe effect as if all keys are being pressed/released machine-gun style. This must be a consequence of having to send two packets of data in an attempt to surmount the normal 6 key plus modifier limit.
Does this really matter? I don't know, it may work OK in games. But it shows that DAS's attempt at 12 key rollover is not perfect. A PS/2 keyboard with n-key rollover does not suffer from this problem.
I know this video has been up a while, but I would like to clarify - Are you using a USB to connect the keyboard to your computer or a PS/2 connector? I ask because USB can only handle 6 key rollover while PS/2 can handle any number. Thanks.
