ICA Paper Conservator Jamye Jamison works on a theater poster owned by the Cleveland Public Library. The poster came to the ICA lined with an acidic paper backing on top of fabric. The object is given an aqueous treatment of deionized water with calcium, which both washes and removes acid from it (note the yellowing in the water). Jamye then begins the manual removal of the acidic paper backing.
