"Amour! viens aider ma faiblesse" is Dalila's second aria from Saint-Saen's opera - Samson et Dalila (Act II).

Dalila is waiting in her house for Samson to come and visit her, as he often does.

Dalila was a princess of the Philistine people, with whom Samson has fallen in love. Samson was the third to the last Judge of the ancient Hebrew people.

Samson and Dalila are enemies, but also lovers. In this aria Dalila asks the god of love to help her to conquer Samson, an enemy of her people.

Live Performance of Dalila's aria - "Amour! viens aider ma faiblesse" - by Amadea (Mezzo-Soprano), accompanied by Jens Holzkamp (Piano). April 2008.

  • Hi, Listening to you - I thought of an interesting idea, at least in my mind...there is a great tenor aria in Lohengrin (2nd act??).. It sure would be great to hear a mezzo take a run at it...thank you for your wonderful works.

  • Hi hswatnick. I looked at Lohengrin's song in Act 1. This is beautiful. It begins like this - Nun, sei bedankt, mein lieber Swan. I will try this. Thanks. Good idea. Dorothea

  • You sing/express Love beautifully! All the shades, from the deepest to the highest!

  • Your voice is so beautiful !

    Are you dramatic mezzo ?

  • Dorothea Do not be afraid to use more chest,,,,only then you'll get full emotional & dramatic effect!

  • Wonderful performance. I always felt absoltely ridiculous using gestures and such when I performed. But, since it seems that other people do it, perhaps I'll find it a bit easier.

  • Thank you for transforming my day with this lovely performance! Well-rendered and beautiful.

  • DOROTHEA ~

Another of opera's BEAUTIFUL melodies ~ and a wonderful choice for your voice!
