It's just one remake and reboot after another (oops, sorry...'reimagining'). I can just envisage a cluster of fat, overpaid film execs in suits all sitting in a boardroom going 'hey, we're getting away with this shit over and over. Let's go all out and remake The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane and The Wizard of Oz. We'll reboot all Hitchcock's films and we'll remake the original Star Wars under the pretext that this version will be more true to Lucas' original vision!'

A disappointing decision from a filmmaker I've always admired. I was hoping that the glitz of the Black Swan days would not effect Aronofsky's personal artistry, but this seems like a total sell-out maneuver. I'm sure he'll do a bang-up job with it (he is undeniably talented) but what's the point? After the wonderful originality of Pi, Requiem, Wrestler, etc., is he now out of ideas?

Don't you dare touch Robocop, it was made clear a long time ago that film makers don't have what it takes to make good action movies anymore. Doing this remake will fuck up the 1987 classic which is one of my favourite movies of all time, to me it's not worth it. Heres a thought, come up with your own original idea and make it just as violent as the original Robocop.
