People over 50 are the most likely to need CPR for cardiac arrest. And they probably won't buy you dinner first. Are you ready for your first time doing CPR?

If someone has a cardiac arrest you should give CPR as quickly as possible. Even if it's your first time doing CPR, it's better than nothing.

Remember to call 000 then begin compressions. You should aim for 2 compressions a second and compress their chest 1/3 or 5cm while giving CPR.

@TrueBlueAustralian in the majority of cardiac arrest cases the priority is giving chest compressions.

If there is a possible choking or drowning then it is wise to clear the throat and give a couple of quick breaths.

Above all it is important to attempt CPR. The victims chances of survival increase greatly if they are given CPR quickly after the incident until the paramedics arrive.

witnessed an older cyclist die today. I took cpr class but froze, tho i helped unclip him from his bike. I woulda soon got my act together but there was another already guy taking control and he and another fella did cpr till ambo came. no dice tho.

Great work! You understand how important it is to get in quickly then. Instructing it would be great, the more people that know CPR the better.

I saved a three year old boy in full arrest with CPR, its an amazing thing. I'm concidering instructing it.
