Good tip. I'm thinking if I hear back early enough from a grad school, after applying next fall, then maybe I can fit in a trip during the spring semester/summer. I don't know anything about the grad school program in Germany...like if I could get a stipend for a TA position...so basically have it all payed for...or how the advisors are or how their research works. I've heard stories that make it sound like you have to be 50 years old to get your own lab in Germany.

I just finished grad school in May, and since there aren't any jobs, I hit the road. If you want to travel, do it before or after grad school, or look for a program in Germany :)
