Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #2
(Version 2.0)

Second version of this review.

Wasn't happy with the way the first one came out so this is now the official review as far as my reviews go.

A lot of changes, and a higher score amongst the things changed in this version. New opening and closing graphics as well as shorter movie synopsis to fit in with the rest of my reviews from now on.

Gremlins 2: The New Batch for the Nintendo Entertainment System is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.

Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.

In the means of saving space the score tallies used to get to the final score are listed here instead of in the review itself. They are on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible and are as follows:

Story Accuracy to the Movie 5.5
(The only true accuracy is in the cut scenes. The rest doesn't match up as well as it could have)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movie's 2.0
(Songs are in the spirit of the soundtrack but don't match up at all and is totally original in origin. That doesn't mean they are bad though. Game Music fans will love the soundtrack with some of the songs being memorable. Gremlins theme somewhere in the game though would have been nice too.)

Game Difficulty 4.5
(The game is challenging and frustrating at many points but the game is too short when all is said and done. Play control issues can be annoying as well making it harder than it should be.)

Overall Fun 6.5
(The game is fun but also limiting. Replayability will be low for most but it will keep you busy for the time you are into beating it.)

Final Score: 6.00
Good

  • Will you be doing the one with Aladdin for the SNES/GBA since you revised this Gremlins 2?

  • Most likely yes as that one is in major need of a re do. But that will be for later. Just wanted to get this one up since it was ready to go before I get back to the others I am working on.

  • Cool remake review. Gremlins 2 is one of the better movie licensed NES games at least.

  • I always thought Gizmo looked so much better in the first movie, he just looked to much like a toy in the second, it was hard to suspend disbelief and think he was real, whereas in the first he did seem real and pretty darn cute.

  • if you do not want to buy the game go to goggle and type in the name and play free and it would be the third one down (or forth)

  • Sure looks like a great a fun game but its developers still made the same mistake as with other movie adaption: Not following the movie enough. Of course this one is not that bad. There are far worse like Back to the Future.

  • Regular Gremlin, Machine Gun, and Spider are all the same Gremlin. Mohawk. Mohawk was supposed to be the Gremlin leader in the 2nd film, to take Stripe's place, but he was overshadowed by Brain, and his only true accomplishment was turning into the Spider-Gremlin

  • @insane8veggies His skin looked very synthetic in the first, particularly round the mouth. Movement less convincing too. More like a puppet.

  • lol at 8:50

  • they also made a gremlins 1 for the gba will u please do that?

If you want to see Amiga reviews you should check out filmnstuff.

  • this the better version that is worth investing more time and money into. The gameboy game even with cheat is not worth touching. t I'm the words of a famous supernatural villian of mid 1990s"Are you try to make a dope out of me." Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  • Hey Jackass, The office level is The Gremlins theme tune. Nice video though very professional looking.

  • I would like to see some more 8 and 16-bit personal computer reviews like. MS-DOS, Speccy, AMSTRAD, MSX, C64, AMIGA ect.
