Addison - yellow Lab available for adoption

ADDISON: 2-3 Years Old, Yellow Lab, Neutered Male, 65 lbs


Addison has had a rough time being bounced around various shelters since last June after being picked up as a stray. The Oakland shelter took care of his eye entropia (this is a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the cornea but is easily corrected by surgery), which he had on both eyes affecting his vision and causing him pain. They got him neutered and updated on his shots and now he is a very healthy boy that needs to gain some weight as it has was stressful being in the shelter so long. The Oakland shelter called us to place him into our foster system as he wasn't showing well in the shelter environment. It was Addison's lucky day since we had an available foster who is also a dog trainer and now we able able to provide him the structure and guidance he needs to show his true potential as a family pet. Our guess before the shelter, Addison had been neglected as an outside dog which was not a great life. Now this handsome young Lab lives in the foster's home with her other dogs. He is learning lots of great social skills with the foster mom and her two dogs and he is getting out to a lot of great dog places (on leash and off leash parks.) He is housebroken and loves to be with people and is good with other dogs, though we are not sure about cats. He takes treats gently and does not mind a wire crate. He walks great on the leash, is learning recall, sit and down. He is very in tune with the foster in a healthy way, he is a quite calm dog and a very soft dog. He enjoys hanging out in the backyard in the morning sun. Since Addison is a young, energetic boy and is just learning basic training, we want him to go to a home where his training will be continued and reinforced. We also would like to see him with active people who will give him plenty of exercise. He is updated on his shots and a very healthy dog. Addison is located in Pittsburg.
