  • if you want to see the details of this case, go to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education thefireDOTorg and look at their case files "Umass-Amherst theft of student newspapers." The heavy girl in the video was objecting to the newspapers portrayal of her student's group budget as "Bloated like her fat ass" that's why the papers were stolen.

  • what the fuck is this about? All I saw was a group of adults, muffled speech and then at the end a few people take the newspapers? Where's the theft? Also, the video description mentions a police officer? Where is this officer?

  • If I were that guy, I'd just run like hell away from the thieves back to my apartment or dorm room. Then I'd strategically sell them when the thieves are nowhere in sight. I hate to say it, but the guy with the newspapers kind of wussed out here. The thieves didn't so much as 'steal' as the guy being a pansy and giving the papers b/c he was afraid of a fight.

  • Vendors permits are the absolute dumbest anti-competition barrier to entry in the WORLD! Incredibly anti-market. Where the "pro-market" Republicans on vendors permits? Nowhere! Not even at the local level are they proposing to get rid of em. They've accepted it, of course, b/c it protects tehir Wall Street friends. They don't like small business.

Seriously, if you can't compete against a newer business, you deserve to lose. No barriers to entry, whatsoever, if you ask me.

  • I agree with Ash. Printing newspapers is an exercise in our First Amendment right to free press and free speech. A "vendor's permit"? What kind of crap is that? Heh. Welcome to Massachussetts......

  • I woulda knocked any of em right on their azz

  • I think she wants to use them for the cage they keep her in!

  • should not have let them take any of them at all.
