Wrestling is as ancient as planet Earth. It is a sport that was/is also practised by the Luo along the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda and Sudan.
In Luo Language, wrestling is called AMEN. A wrestling day is also an occasion for assembling and celebrating. People come from far and wide to attend a wrestling competition. Luo wrestlers drink fermented porridge made from millet or sorghum. They drink fermented milk to make the bones stronger. They also eat fish and other nourishing food.
