In 1992, U.S. Representative Patricia Schroeder of Colorado held hearings investigating the practices of psychiatric hospitals in the United States. Rep. Schroeder summarized her committee's findings as follows:

"Our investigation has found that thousands of adolescents, children, and adults have been hospitalized for psychiatric treatment they didn't need;

that hospitals hire bounty hunters to kidnap patients with mental health insurance;

that patients are kept against their will until their insurance benefits run out;

that psychiatrists are being pressured by the hospitals to increase profit;

that hospitals 'infiltrate' schools by paying kickbacks to school counselors who deliver students; that bonuses are paid to hospital employees, including psychiatrists, for keeping the hospital beds filled;

and that military dependents are being targeted for their generous mental health benefits. I could go on, but you get the picture"

The most evil person you'll ever meet in your life , is a psychiatrist . They are your very worse nightmare. They are purley motivated by money and how much they can squeeze out of you . Good luck trying to sue a psychiatrist , they've already hired a team of lawyers and started slandering you the minute you walked out.

Yes, there are quite a few cases, where ritalin(or other medication) have been falsely applied, but this does not mean all psychiatrists are the devil.

psychiatry has has either become a mass social experiment or a straight-up eugenics program. The evidence has been around for decades that these drugs do not work and cause permanent harm. yet psychiatrists are giving them out to younger patients all the time. these drugs were never tested or meant for young kids. and how else could you explain lobotomy? these people are the sick ones. i used to think that it was just about the money from pharma, i am coming to the conclusion it might be worse.

@sigmunds1 are evil people are not sufficient facts. Because i have experienced the total damage of my dignity from a psychiatrist, I still have alot of hate 4 alot of those types of people. However, who's to say that all Psychiatrists act the same way. I'm pretty sure there are those who are committed to helping their patients with a good solid heart and do not take advantage of their weak mental illness or their personal profiles. Psychiatry is like religion. Some use it well some abuse it.

@sigmunds1 i know ideally how u feel. And when i was 16 yrs old i had 2 sit n get interviewed(secretly interrogated) by dis psychiatrist lady at school cuz of a mistake i dun. And i knew da minute i walked n dat room, she wood just ruin a big part of my life. And i wish i hadn't created dat watever i did. and especially wen i met da psychiatrist, i had dis misconception dat all psychiatrists r evil n corrupt. but u r right alot of dem unfortunatley are. But, generalizing all psychiatrists

L Ron Hubbard was given Vistaril® by Dr. Gene Denk in his final days, by intramuscular injection in the right buttocks. Vistaril® is a psychiatric drug, used to calm frantic or overly anxious patients. He died on January 24th, 1986, eight days after the fatal stroke, and one day after signing his last will and testament. I'm still waiting for the prove of chemical unbalance in the brain. They'll prescribe very addictive and brain-damaging drugs and they're call themself docters. I'm recovering from the use of Paxil and I'm going truh hell every day. My MD said Paxil is not addictive, after 9 monhs withdrawl,I want to kill him. I can think clear now, but my body is suffering every day.
