  • Here Jaco's playing a custom five string acoustic bass... I really love that early years Jaco stuff.. It sounds amazing and it definately brings some fresh material for us to discover...

    Yes, Jaco produced some amazing sounds utilizing that bass. But even though he practiced it a lot for a few years, I've read that he was never quite satisfied with the sound it produced so he decided to more or less abandon it. I think it was because he liked a more "direct" and clear sound, and he felt that his fender fretless was more suitable for that purpose.
