  • Actually I think they were running a tie-in contest with Puma so this was probably to promote it.

  • actually, like i said, it was an evisu/puma party, and they just provided the music. this was taken about a year before the puma/mstrkrft promo...

  • Which Puma store is this?

  • santa monica 3rd street promenade (in southern california). they aren't sponsored by puma (to my knowledge)...it was just an evisu/puma party, and they happened to provide the entertainment. this was during v-day 2006, so it was before their album came out, etc...so they were probably willing to play smaller "venues" just to get their name out...

  • God dam...He looked sexier in DFA1979...You know I talked to Jesse like 2 weeks before they publically announced their break up, and they said they were doing fine, and that Sebastien was just in the hospital. I saw him at a MSTRKRFT interview at Much Music...Ohwell...I'm going to miss Death From Above 1979. I heard there was a new remix album coming out in october though =S....

  • yea, i feel super lucky to have seen dfa1979, before they called it quits

  • AWESOME REMIX!

  • I saw them play in a bar with like 15 sweaty kids watching. Most of the audience was like old men there for beer who left shorlty after set began. I think I payed $10-$12, about 3-4 years ago, more like 4. Also playing that day was Nardwaur's (spelling) band, who does intervies on Much Music. I came very, very close to a major accident that day so most of the day is quite vivid. They played loud and relentless. They made jokes in between each song and didn't mess up any songs. Good times.

  • Where I come from (Toronto), they call THAT an orgy ;).

  • Thanks for the info.

There's a good chance that there is a Puma connection. My pal is a marketing manager for Puma Canada & she loves DFA 1979 (who are from Toronto)...I think I recall her doing something with these guys.

  • What's with these guys and Puma?A sponser is it?
