  • The line-up: Dominique Peysaert - cello, Jean-Marc Finn - flute & alto flute, Tigran Ter-Stepanian - guitar, Vartan Hovanissian - duduk & shvi. Great band, great song great video. This song is taken from CD "La Brise". Their second CD is titled as "Crossing".

  • @rimefrostkitten the instrument actually is called "Tav Shvi". You can call it 'Sring' too. But it is not 'Kaval'

  • Finally looking for real Armenian song found real pure Armenian music! thanks for uploading!

  • @ExosMxRevolution Hmm, from the audio samples I have heard, the Shvi sounds more high pitched than this. This instrument actually sound reminiscent of an Anatolian woodwind known as the 'Kaval.' The Kaval it is said to be a shepherd's flute much like the 'Srink,' only the Srink or 'Sring' is said to originate from the Caucus region of Eastern Armenia.

But maybe this instrument is a Shvi, maybe I am timbre deaf! XD

  • @rimefrostkitten the man on the left is playing an armenian instrument called "shvi"

  • Is that a srink, the man on the left is playing?

  • perfect.

  • Another like from Turkey.
