  • How do I get the script?

  • @SHKAAL887 When you buy Syntheyes, there is a link on the customer page for downloading.

  • Hi, Thanks most helpful :) I cant get my objects to cast shadows and I cant get the `ground plane` to show them! Plane ( with a cube sitting on top) for the ground in Blender with the following settings, AO (on) & a spot light to create the shadow: Plane (ground) settings.. Transparancy (on) Ztransparancy Recieve (on) Recieve transparancy (on) cast shadows only (off) Shadows only (on) cast buffer shadows(0.000) auto ray bias (on) cast approx (on) AO shadows seen but not spot light shadows!
  • @MrNeilIsted AO may be so bright it obscures the point light shadows. Turn off AO or lower the factor for AO.

  • @MikeHornett Thanks for the reply :)

It also seems I needed to adjust the aplha setting on the shadow object ;)

  • @MrNeilIsted I don't think so, the alpha on the plane has to be all the way up or the shadow will decrease with decreased alpha. Also, if you choose 'Shadow Only' instead of 'Shadow and Distance' there will be less fall off as the distance is not taken into consideration. Also, don't be deceived by scaling the scene and the changing distance/angle of the light after scaling. Keep plugging away, it's a great piece of software. After 4 years I'm still learning.

  • When I run the script, I get the error "Python script fail"

  • @figuealaska I'm having the exact same issue, but I am not sure why.

  • @MikeHornett Many thanks, and yes, learning Blender is confusing :P

  • @MikeHornett Many thanks for your reply ;)

Strangely I fixed the problem by selecting everything in my scene and scaling it down ! The smaller I re-scaled the scene (with everything selected) the better (and darker) the shadows got!.. Once again, Many thanks for such a speedy reply ..have a great Christmas :)
