I'm sorry but he is simply wrong. You are able to sync all those things (or their equivalent) and more with ubuntu1. You are also able to sync them to mobile devices l;ike android, kindle, and iphone and across other OSs.

@mRCleANisunavailable Windows has no equivalent, at least not from Microsoft that doesn't cost insanely more. The Microsoft equivalent is Exchange, which is VERY expensive. This thing stores all your email, contacts, calendars, notes, backups, files, system settings, passwords, email accounts. It keeps your book marks synced between every Mac, PC or iDevice you use. Windows Live does NOT do what MobileMe does. MobileMe is "Exchange for the rest of it", and very cheap for what it is.

@peachster2 You don't HAVE to pay for it. You only pay for it if you want it. It's far more than just email.

yep, another thing you have to pay for on a mac

Umm the equivalent is windows live mesh
and the entire .net framework if anyone hasn't noticed it... and not only does it do across all of your pc's it goes to your windows phone 7 if you got one your xbox, your zune, and everything that microsoft has got their hands on, heck if there was a microsoft car there would be. Oh and windows live is free :D + 20gb storage initial with autosynch.
