The banks should be what is supposed to be, a pooling of capital generated by the people for the people, for the common good, not private profit among a small minority.

I don't agree with that position at all. In fact, I would say that is one of my major disagreements with the Left. Most people I think are reasonably able to make up their minds about things, unlike the Leftist who believes that people are 'corrupted' or 'brainwashed' by ideology.
