Cablevision is better (For me) since Verizon refuses to lay anymore Fiber, They are focusing on mobile so unless you already have it in your area chances are you not getting it. My only choice is Optimum and I am OK with it. I just ordered upgrade to Optimum Ultra which claims 101mbits down and 15mbits up,

im on the other side of LI and they dont have fios i barely watch tv anymore and cablevision is hell with the internet and cable going out every week

verizon fios cost more but you get more channels and better pictures

My bill is $25.00 a month less than it was with cablevision. After having Fios, I would never switch back to that crappy service. I would pay $100 a month more than cablevision if I had to. A person is either nuts or poor if they actually have Fios and swtich back to cablevision. No comparison.

i had optimum for 8 years until 2 mnths ago when fios became available in my area. tv picture is much better than optimum + nfl network and nfl redzone make this unbelievable. everytime i called optimum about getting the nfl network tehy tried to sale me on the varsity sports channel-wtf??? also the internet speeds are nuts- i have 35/35 upload download and it never lags- even at peak hours when everyone is home after 6 like my optimum used to do. way better service!!!!!!

notice how there only talking about the quality and picture. Yeah, they'll like it until the bill comes around. So many fees. 40% Of people who go to fios switch back to optimum the next year. Explain that.

me and everyone i know say cablevision. i've used verizon, both fios and DSL (which probably stands for Die Slowly Losers )...and it ended up being the biggest mistake i'd ever made. i won't get in depth about it, but it was a nightmare. all i can say is that in mine and many's opinions cablevision > verizon. specifically the optimum branch for television, but optimum is only available to those in the mid-atlantic, but comcast is good too. direct tv's not bad, but not as good.
