The first part of the afternoon on August 8, 1996 at Horseshoe Curve was light on action. Other than a couple of light helper movements there wasn't anything going on. While talking to a fellow railfan his scanner came alive with chatter from Altoona about delays and trying to combine two trains to clear room in the yard. Still nothing moved for a while, and we wondered if this monster train was just a myth. In the meantime, the little self-propelled crane shown here had a golden opportunity to move west. Anticipation continued to build as to what would appear next...
cool catch, are you going to go there again sometime.
