Saratoga Battle (HD)

Some scenes from the recent reenactments of the decisive October 1777 battle between Burgoyne's British forces and the American Army under General Horatio Gates, which took place near Stillwater, NY. (Music is "Fife and Gun" from the soundtrack for "Gettysburg".) These photos come from members of the British Brigade, 2nd Albany Militia, Robert Hasbrouck, and other living history groups.)

@POWROTTATY Yes, Kościuszko, a young Polish soldier & engineer, joined the American army as a volunteer. He chose the Bemis Heights site at Saratoga, designed & oversaw building of the American fortifications, and was also responsible for putting obstacles in the way of the British descent along the Hudson. Kościuszko was the engineering genius behind the American victory at Saratoga.
