George W. Bush Discusses Terri Schiavo Video Date: 3/31/2005. Excerpt from public domain video. Creative Commons license: Public Domain. THE PRESIDENT: Today millions of Americans are saddened by the death of Terri Schiavo. Laura and I extend our condolences to Terri Schiavo's families. I appreciate the example of grace and dignity they have displayed at a difficult time. I urge all those who honor Terri Schiavo to continue to work to build a culture of life, where all Americans are welcomed and valued and protected, especially those who live at the mercy of others. The essence of civilization is that the strong have a duty to protect the weak. In cases where there are serious doubts and questions, the presumption should be in the favor of life. The most solemn duty of the American President is to protect the American people. Excerpt from public domain video. Creative Commons license: Public Domain.

Bush can bomb the hell out of Iraq but can't accept that a brain dead woman be allowed to die. The fact that he pretended to care about this woman is funny and sad at the same time.

Hmmmmmm, a guy who snorted a hole in his head, nearly drank himself to death and sent 4000 saps to die in a made up war he and his cronies created is somehow able to speak about the "quality of life"? Republicunts are some amazing people and their nerve is astonishing.

@ItssBrian But she was literally brain dead with zero chance of recovery. That's not "deeming her inferior", it's just stating a medical fact. She WAS dead, just not physically. This was way beyond a severe disability or a coma; she was -dead-.

@gingerbreadcorpses She was a living human being. Killing her because you deem her inferior is disgusting. Not only did they decide not to take care of her, the prevented others from taking care of her. There were literally thousands if not millions of people who would have come to her aid if they let them.

Her life was nothing more than a series of involuntary reflexes. She had no consciousness and zero chance of recovery. This was the obvious medical consensus, and the autopsy confirmed it. Wanting to keep her alive just because of your religious beliefs is completely deranged.

I agree with President Bush

iraq was invading kuwait and threatening saudi arabia with the same in order for them to not sell oil to the united state. they were looking to control the oil fields outside their borders. they are not a player in the oil market. i have been there more than once and do know wha tis there and what is not but i also see you know how to argue your poin unlike some others on youtube for which i hold no contempt but do not apologize for my ferocious attitude in responding.

@supercomet32: iraq certainly does have oil and one reason hussein gave for invading kuwait in the 1990s was because they were surreptitiously exploiting iraqi oil along the border. also, why would hussein, running a totalitarian state, have allowed terrorists or militants in his borders when he was executing detractors left and right? he certainly did not. i agree oil is not the only motivation for US action there. but with respect, i think you have some fact-checking to do on iraqi history.

if we still have a fee country when its over trust me when i say it will only have come at a great sacrifice and cost to the american citizens. lets just hope we can retain our individual freedoms free from communist and socialist rule without having to shed blood to do so. either way is fine by me after all i did join to stop the spread of communism and to kill the enemies of my country.
