A Yu Duo, Miao singer--Hmong?

As I am sure you all know her name is A Yu Duo. This is her debut album along with other songs/mv's
Although Mee Ha as you all know is quite known among the Hmong people in America A Yu Duo is known through China's pop culture...I guess you can say she is the first Pop Miao singer in China...

Miao means young seedling or sprouting seed. No matter how much our culture has been oppressed, we are still here. Like the grass that regrow. You can plow the dirt and destroy the grass, but let it sit for a couple of months and you will see grass again. We survived for 5000 years and we will continue to be around. Proud of my ancestors.

HMONG MEANS "IGNORANCE"! ok, follow closely. Ayuduo is from Guizhou and works a lot with a group of miaos in Beijing for CCTV. one of those miao people is a guy named Yang Geli. Yang Geli learned to speak our hmoob dawb dialect and been to the U.S. a few times now. in his interviews, he states that they are from the same miao people. when asked if he is 'hmong' or not, he says yes they are, then proceeded to count in their dialect and its near exactly the way we count, so Ayuduo = hmong too.

@nongvangful I think so too! But we all gotta admit they are both darn good! Zuying has a more opera sounding to her voice, whereas A you duo has an ethnic mountain singing style.

wiki hmong people and most of you will learn that miao/hmong, are really of one ancestry and it is not considered a derogatory term in china......ignorance springs hate....

It's really SAD that there are a bunch of people here arguing over the word "Miao" and "Hmong." I remembered as a child, my parents always call us "Peb Hmoob" rather then Hmong. San(3) Miao = Peb(3) Hmoob. I used to work at a chinese restaurant and I asked the chinese workers what they called us and they said : Miao Zhu.

@aleeguyhere also considering the fact that that the only reason hmong people were so strong back then because we worked together. but now is kinda a different story. would be great if we can do that again without no leader. it is also nice to consider, or feel good about is that. there is about 9.8? something million hmong people mixed with other of the 52 minor cultures in china.

wow this song of hers is weird n different from the other. looks more like hmong in this one. miao is what the chinese call hmong people because in the chinese dictionary they dont have the word hmong because wen the hmong people broke apart fromt he war they called themselves Hmog meaning free or free people. but they dont speak the ame but they r still referred n known as hmong or Miao.

By comparison, A yu duo voice is much sweeter than he4r counterpart Song Zuying, I think.
