You're right - stupidity is the other name of captiousness, carping and nitpicking.

well, it's fantastic but scary. You can hear that it's one of the most amazing voices ever, and he's a superb musician, but he's essentially forcing his way all the way through. Only the strongest voice can handle that brutality. see, he has to let go sometimes because the pressure becomes too much, and his voice goes into whisper or hoarseness crackling in the bottom, where he lets go of the pressure (or the voice would spasm). So he's pushing on to and almost speaking in the low, as safety

his voice is better placed than most tenors I know of, and his 'upper' note shere are excellent

you know it is good that some people try and do things outside of their fach, but it really only works if a bigger voice is doing something of a more lyrical nature, every time a tenor who isnt meant for the bigger roles tries to go for the big ones he burns out fast, take pavarotti, at one point he tried wagner and was like "ok i fucked up" lol, needless to say he quit that stuff fast. people need to stick to their fach and focus on doing what they can extremely well, point in case, juan diego!

yes he sounds like that often when he's singing lyrical material. Whenever he sings Una Furtiva Lagrima, you can tell his voice is too big for the song. I love when he sings lyrical repertoire, love when people have the balls to try anything rather than the stuff in their ordained "box".
Placido Domingo is one of the most important tenors of the History!
