my wife was carjacked, raped and murdered in 1991.. I can only dream, late at night, of what might have gone differently if she had a gun in her purse.. no guarantees, but certainly a fighting chance... as it was, she was tossed out of the car naked with a bullet in her head, still alive... and died on the way to the hospital..

Funny, that same second amendment gave the lunatic who shot up the diner and her parents the ability to purchase a firearm, ammunition, and shoot up a diner of innocent people.

The problem with the second amendment seems to be that when it was written, A) Assault Weapons didn't exists and B) there seemed to be a sincere lack of lunatics abusing it. Go ahead, deregulate firearms. I love watching "civilized nations" implode.

She made the point brilliantly,we the people SHOULD have assault weapons since they are for our defense against our government.

The 2A was NEVER for hunting or target practice which the anti-gun crowd likes to implant into our heads.

the 2nd amendment was placed in the Bill of Rights, which were designed specifically to protect the rights of the citizens. How does a militia help the citizens when we have an army to do that? No, it meant to give the right to bear arms.

The "regulation" you refer to is not granted to the federal government by the 2nd amendment. As far as the use of the term militia, the 2nd amendment's purpose is to grant the right of the people to form well regulated militias separate from the military branches of the federal government inasmuch that context of the Bill of Rights is directed to the rights of individuals, not government.
