hello youtube furries!
:UPDATE:heres the templates for you to use: http://labradorpup2001.deviantart.com/art/fox-fursuit-head-templates-152531862

i hope this video can help a lot of you.

in this video, i show you how to make a quick, simple and yet effective head for your fursuit.

in the past i have experimented with plastic canvas heads and i find them very uncomfortable and the jaws don't always work properly. i found out about the balaclava method here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93eNiQ6eTGs

i then created my own and found such a simple way of cutting out the foam without using the whole square of foam up. if you would like the fox template pieces, i can scan them and put them on www.labradorpup2001.deviant.com later on.(already done, look at top of description)

enjoy the slideshow. or you can fast forward to the end to see the head in action. it's a little loose on me because i didn't do the elastics tight enough, as you can tell, the jaw hangs a bit. but the whole thing fits like a glove. so easy and comfortable. nothing contricts your view! :D

  • can u use styrofoam

  • @0219andrea you can try if you have a hot wire for it. might be good alternative for a resin head perhaps.

  • Do you glue the foam on your balaclava?

  • @NekoSamuraiBlader yes i did. but i recommend, using fatkrakken's method (thats making a foam helmet and sticking everything onto that.

  • How expensive is all this together? Because I might convince my mom to let me make one..

  • @DawnRainWasHere well if you do it bit by bit, it'd probably be about £40 a month over three months at the least.

  • Is yers like doing something that mine's isnt..I did the same exact things and yet the jaw hangs open...I dont even have teeth in it yet, there is barely any weight on it and yet it hangs

  • @LionPawCreations Okay thanks! (-:

  • @RosaFelton

i dunno if i replied or not...but no.It will look retarded. You can use scissors

  • @ScourgeClawz

uhm..I guess, you can use some head bands that stretch or really long rubber bands.....What do you mean by wool? Like wool elastic?OOH,by the way,the elastic goes on the OUTSIDE of the balaclava,so it wont be on yer skin :)

  • @LionPawCreations but could I use wool elastic agrivates my skin even through a balaclava

  • @RosaFelton

I did not make this, but no. You can use scissors, thats what I use lol

  • @ScourgeClawz

i didn't make this video, but you need the elastic unless you want one without a moving jaw.

  • Can I use a normal knife?
