Why Did Paula Abdul Leave American Idol?

Here at the Clevver TV headquarters in Beverly Hills, I'm Dana Ward with the latest elimination news for American Idol.

Unfortunately, for most A-I viewers, this castaway is not simply a bad singer nor did she not receive enough of America's votes. In fact, this person was actually a fan favorite. I'm talking about Paula Abdul.

After weeks of speculation regarding IF the original judge would return for season-9 of the popular Fox reality show, it's been confirmed that Abdul will not be on the judging panel. Paula actually tweeted the following: QUOTE, 'With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return'. According to reports, Fox did make an offer to the ex-dancing-singer and she chose to turn it down. That being said, the story is certainly NOT that simple. Off the record and in the gossip, Abdul apparently requested a 20-million-dollar contract after producers had offered her a fraction of that pricetag, anywhere from 4 to 10-million-bucks. Also, according to insiders, Idol host Ryan Seacrest signed a contract worth about 45-million-dollars while producer-slash-judge Simon Cowell was taking home around 40-million-bucks - so basically, Paula was asking for a bit more compensation like her co-workers.

I didnt really like Kara, Simon was good for helping the Idol build, Randy is AWSOME!!! This years team is good too though. I love Steven Tyler!!! He is soooo funny!!! Jennifer is really the girly girl but she calls the shots too. Randy keeps them all in check. i think this years judges will be good!!! I miss you Paula!! You are my FAVE!! I didnt like ellen!!!!
