March 30, 2008 - Cathy Jordan, having survived Lou Gehrig's Disease (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) for 14 years using only Cannabis (marijuana) for medicine, leads fellow patients and caregivers to see Governor Jeb Bush. Before they go into the Capitol building, the Journey members encircle the complex in a raucus parade - determined to educate the public on the issue of safe access to a God-given herbal medicine.

*** PLEASE READ: Cannabis has the most healing effects for patients early in ALS disease progression. While it can be useful later, SMOKING ANYTHING CAN BE DANGEROUS IN ADVANCED CASES OF ALS, so check with your doctor if you have any concerns. • I find it disconcerting that I can find out more about what's going on with the pro-marijuana movement from YouTube than I can from several newspapers and TV stations here in Florida.

Florida marijuana users need to get organized. We need to get pot legalized in Florida.

    .

  • We have started an ASA (Americans for Safe Access) chapter here in Florida. Will you help educate your Congressman and Senator?

What part of Florida are you in? I'm in Manatee County. - Cathy Jordan

  • What an inspiring video. It makes me want to get on the road again. Extremely courageous actions must be taken to resolve this issue.

  • I am so glad to see people from the Journey responding. After all, you know how cold it was in the morning and how hot it was in the afternoon. Hope all is well with you and your daughters, especially Tif.

From the other gray haired old hippies! Ha- Ha!

Peace and Love, - Bob and Cathy

  • I liked the premise for the Journey. Jeb made a promise and he wasn't responding to a follow up inquiry...so go to see him, high profile. The fact that Jeb said he hadn't ever met a meical marijuana patient two weeks after meeting Cathy came back to bite him in his ass. Good for Cathy and Bob! They delivered the consequences that politicians think they are immune from when it comes to medical marijuana. Bring it to their doorstep! You set a good example. No more "hit and run" for politicians.

  • I always regreted not coming to Washington and getting arrested with Cheryl when you two demonstated in Bob Barr's office. I did not know I would have to come back to DC for court appearances. This stupid disease stops me from being able to speak to people directly, because my emotions are uncontrollable. At Cheryl's Memorial, the thought of speaking to you made me cry.

As my husband and I both know, there are no tears for warriors like us. Laughter is the best medicine! Good Luck in NJ!

  • I regret not taking a stand even tho I don't live in FL and only found out about Cathy's plight less than 2yrs ago. My Grandpa died of ALS in 1995; less than 3yrs of suffering through ALS choking on his own saliva while at the time I was a casual user/now a chronic pain patient who has studied the use of this medicinal plant that does come from God with the need for medical use/approval & not arrests of good people that are only trying to live w/o suffering. God Bless Cathy for all you did

  • stay strong, i know this diesase is hell i watched my mom suffer for 2 years.

  • DX RRMS

Live in MT where medical marijuana is legal but still too hard to get approved for it.

    Still made to be criminal.

    I'll smoke to that.

  • Despite having RRMS I'll be walking a couple of 10k (6 milesish) events in the UK in 2009. I will do this dressed in a Cannabis leaf and also raise money for a children's charity. Brave or stupid, the motivation is slowly building here. Keep it up! xxx

  • Brave, courageous citizens pleading with their state legislators to be heard. Where is the compassion in Florida? Legalize cannabis for medical use immediately!! Return dignity to the sick and suffering!! It is time!!!
