1997 Nissan Maxima SE with $160 Ebay catback exhaust ("Watomi Racing") and K&N cone filter. Rev plus walkaround. Sorry you can't see anything at all, but that's not important. It's all about the sounds :) Muffler is a 5" round with a 4" tip and the resonator looks like a glass pack.

  • would a cat, resonator, and straight through muffler give me that rasp you think? someone help cuz i dont know if straight pipe is to raspy or not but i want a sound like this

  • @sctflasher379 if you want it to sound like this, then your best bet is to get an exhaust like this...

If you put a test pipe in place of the resonator and cat, it will be very raspy and probably droning too. The catback system I used does not replace the stock catalytic converter, it replaces the resonator with what appears to be a glass pack, and the muffler is a straight through round muffler. I'm sure a variety of brands offer exhaust systems like this

  • yo i got the same car,

u install that ureslef or did u take it to a shop?

  • Nope, my friend and I installed it. The only hard part was getting the old exhaust off since it was so rusty. Everything went smooth except for disconnecting the resonater from the O2 sensor test pipe which ended up taking us around 1 1/2 hours. But without that problem, and with the proper tools and people with the proper motor skills, it can be done in an hour and half or so. It was a fun project for us other than the one hitch.

  • Haha intake sounds better than the exhaust

  • lol... I wont argue that. I think the exhaust sounds alright, but the intake noise is unbeatable, lol

  • sounds really good, does the 4" tip look ricey?

  • @kick716 hmm, how do I say it... when putting around, it has a deep bellow that's pretty noisy. You can definitely hear the deep sounds when it pulls up outside a house. It's really loud inside the car too, there's bad highway resonance. But I've heard much much louder cars... and it's definitely a very deep, smooth flowing tone, not raw, savage, raspy noisy, etc....

  • watomi. watomi? waaatomi

  • sounds good bro. Mine sounds very similar, i just had a poor quality camera. Well, done! glad i could help!
