  • @tonyny77 Thanks for view :o)

  • @Phil5000able - I enjoyed Eiger Sanction more than you, it seems, but I had a comment regarding whether Eastwood did all the climbing. I don't know matter-of-factly, but I suspect there were some substitutions. According to IMDB, one stunt man was killed during filming, not by a fall, but by a falling boulder. Also, in the scene where Eastwood and George Kennedy climb the pillar-like "Totem Pole," look closely at some of the long shots. The climber's hair is noticeably longer than Eastwood's.

  • @tonyny77 Thanks for commenting :o)

  • @gasdfw5 ... I cannot agree with you more enthusiastically. Over-use of CGI, in effect, is making "cartoons" out of film footage that's supposed to be live/real. It's, it's ... I don't know the words, but I, for one, think such styles of move-making are deplorable. They don't capture my interest at all. I mean, how much "shock and awe" can someone stand before it's just one, big, boring, completely unrealistic blur? As you said: They skipped telling a good story and substituted lots of CGI.

  • Not one of Clint's best in my view - the plot's very contrived, but I think you're right that they wanted to make a film about mountain climbing and knew it wouldn't sell. As far as I know though he did all his own climbing in the film..

  • @gasdfw5 My sentiments exactly!

  • ...thx for this vid...but you´ve never lost a word about the eiger northface...sure, the mountains in arizona are beautiful but the eiger is the eiger, and it´s northface took many many men to death...sorry for my bad english and have a nice weekend...

  • great film

  • Especially because of the mountain scenes, The Eiger Sanction was one of my favorite Eastwood movies. By the way, the artwork in your office looks unique and pleasing.

  • I like my CGI but I like looking back and seeing how we were entertained in the past , Thanks for watching :o)tm
