Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland Celebrates 50 Years

2010 marks the 50th anniversary of Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland (www.bigsisters.bc.ca) 50 years of friendships, 50 years of mentoring, 50 years of providing young girls in the Lower Mainland with positive role models. What started in the late 1950s with a group of caring women deciding to simply provide their time and friendship to some girls in need at a Vancouver school, has grown into Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland as you know it today. And although lots has changed since that time, the foundation of what we do has not changed from the vision those women in the 50s had. Every day, our volunteers and staff seek to provide vulnerable girls with the support and friendship of a positive role model. This video shows a few of our matches wishing Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland a 'Happy 50th Birthday'!
