The controller uses a decision tree representation and has been evolved using Genetic Programming. This work has been performed by Alexandros Agapitos and David Robles from School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering in University of Essex, UK. Special thanks to our supervisor, Prof. Simon M. Lucas for providing the game simulation and supporting our research.
So the program is able to record and memorize the patterns and then adapt the pathfinding to find the fastest and highest scoring path?
