(Part 2 of 2) A video describing how I made a self-designed king-size bed frame instead of buying one. I wanted something really sturdy, something that would hold up well over time, and I wanted something made out of solid wood. I decided to give it a go myself and see how things come out. I'm happy with the end result. You can read more about the process here: http://raoulpop.com/2010/04/15/making....

This may seem like a stupid question, but how hard was it to move into the bedroom? Did you move it all as one piece or attach the headboard after it was in place? And how hard would it be to take apart if you were to move? I really want to make this but we will likely be moving at least once or twice in the upcoming years, so maybe I should wait until we're more settled...? Thanks for the awesome video--this is exactly the kind of frame I want. Very nice work!!

The fact that it's put together with screws means you can take it apart. And if you like, you can use nuts and bolts, making it even easier to take apart. It wasn't a problem for us, because we live in an old house with wide doors, so it fit through just fine.

You don't need to worry about trees my friend, I am a city slicker just like you and I have discovered that there are many people making sure that trees don't just go away and most of those people are not highly educated folks who don't use conjunctions or talk like metro sexuals. In fact if you get to know the people who live all over our countryside then you would see that no one protects trees like the rural folks. So you don't need to feel so guilty about using wood.
