Attempt to avoid jury duty backfires

A New Yorker summoned for jury duty used hostile tactics in an attempt to avoid selection, but the judge was not having it. Seth Doane reports.

@canonlaunch , When- in other Countries- it was adopted the method of "voluntary juries", It soon became clear that most of them wanted to enter a jury for money they would be given by defendants, or for some favour the prosecutor attorney. So, a random selection among People is perhaps the better way to have a reasonably good jury

@BestTits In my state, you only get paid as reimbursement for your normal day's pay. So if you're unemployed, you don't get squat. Now why should I be cooperative at all if I am required to come down on my own time and gas money for now compensation?

Excuse me? Mr. Judge. I'm unemployed, I'm coming down on my time and gas money to fulfill some bullshit obiligation to you. I'm not getting paid, and there's no law that says I have to be happy about it. And if I lie and say I am happy about it, that's considered fraud. So I'm going go be completely honest with you, I really don't want to be here and I hope I have made that quite apparent. Don't like it, call someone else.
