"Sleeping Beauty, the band, emerged in the winter of 2004, as a project between the two friends: Fredrik Liberg & Petter Seander. The duo recorded a few tracks, just for fun, and eventually the songs ended up on a demo album, released the following fall. As the band went to another stage, by bringing in a touring band in spring 2005, the plans for releasing Let's Take A Ride EP appeared! The influences were drawn from diverse acts as classic singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, slide maestro David Lindley, pop music in the vein of Ed Hardcourt and Ryan Adams, as well as original American roots music, the blues and the country. Let's Take A Ride EP must be considered the duos' real debut, and consists of five sprawling tracks. From the high energy opener (Let's Take a Ride), through the feel-good-vibe of slide guitars (Whatever Happened To Louise) to the sweet sounds of violin (New Boy) and bombastic wall of electric guitars and pianos (Somebody New). This is quality stuff! Fredrik & Petter plays all instrument themselves on the recording, as a way to gain total control, or maybe just because they're able to! Since the Swedish release, in December 2005, the band's been on the road (with sold out performances in home town Gothenburg, and shows all over Sweden), and the video for the title track has received promotion from Swedish national television. This spring the band will continue to promote the EP by touring Sweden, and hopefully abroad, as well as starting the recordings for a full length album, to be released late summer.
