Want a Crater of a Specific Size? Here's Your Answer, as Long as You Don't Mind Radioactive Soil
This is actually clips from two different films: Excavating with Nuclear Explosives and Plowshare. We see a number of underground explosions as narrators tell us about plans to use nukes for excavating purposes. This is a scary conceptââI hate to think of what the radiation would do to the soil. This is pretty short, but it has some interesting-looking explosions on it.

  • plowshare was such a useless project..

how about simply digging those tiny craters.. without polluting the whole area?

me and a good excavator do these in a day..much cheaper and without all the radioactivity

  • @ammar7773 not WTF ,but WTC

  • WTF

  • my left ear likes this video

  • Yeah let's use this to mine with, you wouldn't have to burn the coal just stick in on the fire, watch it glow for light and warmth!

  • @sanaleleman Cool story, bro.

  • Funnily enough, peaceful nuclear explosions (PNEs) are also the only way to make fusion economically viable, as well as even possible, in this current day and age. The PACER project employed mini-fusion bombs in underground domes lined with a molten salt blanket to absorb the heat energy from the blast for conversion into electricity. It worked remarkably well, producing 1000 times more energy than typical nuclear and coal plants, while using less space. It could also transmute fissile fuel too.

  • Plowshare... That is one twisted codename. Only in America.
