  • it happened 5 thousand years ago

  • @tenthousandyearsgoon 5561 BC as year of Mahabharata war would mean it happened ~ 5560 (BC) + 2000 (AD) = ~ 7500 years ago.

  • @MahabharataWar Just curious. Was there a year 0(zero)? (BC) and (AD) always confused me. I would have thought that counting backwards from 2000 (AD) to 5560 (BC) would be: 2000 years (from 2000 to 0) - and 4440 years (from 0 to 5560); but i guess 5560 (BC) is the amount of years before 0(zero) - and not the actual year itself...which would then be -4440. Also, they could not have regarded that time as (BC), so what year did they call it? Never mind...I'm confused again.

  • @exposingbuffoons About 7500 years ago is the best and easy (simple) way of understanding the timing of Mahabharata war. Of course there is very very precise time when it happened (While planetary arrangments described occured over time), specific references do restrict the event(s) to specific days. If you are not comfortable, I would simple ignore BC, BCE, was there year 0 AD, etc. Not sure how you arrived at 4440 years (what ever is ur calc is not correct). Thanks

  • @MahabharataWar Thank u again..

  • @shine1180 Great question. The answer is simple - It is real or NOT. The process of science (which also applies to historical events....only difference being instead of looking for a universal law, we take universal laws of science for granted and investigate for unique historical event. I am convinced, based on my research, that Mahabharat is real, but that my conviction would hardly be of any use to you or others. Be curious. Answer will present itself. You may begin with my book.

  • mahabharath is real or not?

  • @mushtiq Thank you. More of archeo-astronomy in works (Ramayana, Harivamsha, Taittirya Samhita....) Thanks again. The book is available on Amazon (Kindle and Paperback) and in India (paperback) via Flipcart dot com
