  • OK for the novice: A mathematical explanation why you have the harmonica at the specific fret.

    Mensur: Is the distance from the bridge to the nut.

    fret 12: (mensur/2) 1 octaves (double frequency)

    fret 7, 19: (mensur/3) 1 octave and a 5th. (triple frequency)

    fret 5, 25: (mensur/4) 2 octaves (quadruple frequency)
