This is my winter project finally coming together. I say "winter project" but I didn't actually get started until maybe late Feb. 6 weeks and few cases of beer and she's just about done. So How did I do it for 500 bucks? I bought 2 bikes. One was a 73 frame w/ motor and title (what you're looking at) - $100 on ebay. The other a running/busted 81 650 special w/ title (guy was laid off) - $200. I stripped all good parts from the 81 and put on my frame. I sold the left over 81 frame and motor w/ title for $200. I spent the $200 on a hardtail from TCbrothers and then spent 200 on brand new coker tires.
other than that, I had my bro-in-law (uncle E) handle the welding and I did everything I could to JUST USE WHAT I HAVE... and NOT buy junk I don't NEED.
Made a great bobber. Tires arrive on Monday, carbs sinked on tuesday. More videos to come.
