I figured it out! DiRT is not compatible with processors with 8 cores since they are new. Go to the Support section of Codemasters for this game to find out how to make it work. It requires replacing the workerMap8Core.xml file with the workerMap4Core.xml file.

I also have an Intel i7 920.

I have Windows Vista x64 and an NVIDIA GTX 295 and I cannot run the demo race. I can load the game, but once I choose a race with the Subaru, the game freezes after the loading screen. I tried compatibility settings, running as an administrator, different graphic settings and nothing. I have to End Task to restart it. Anyone know how to get it to work?
