@raidernation7878 First Week of the 2011 season: "Sunday the NFL plays here when the Cowboys battle the Jets! Before these teams hit the field, our team hits the air. NFL '11!" I couldn't agree with you more. They need to bring that back!

That's totally Bob Costas man. He took over for Len Berman after the 1983 season
-
It was actually John M. Keil bka to most of the world as the voice of McGruff the Crime Dog
-
Remember the whole commercial? "The NFL plays here!" Miami! The Dolphins are led by their golden arm qb Dan Marino and his all pro WR tandem are set on going back to the Superbowl" The NFL plays here Denver! John Elway and the Bronco attack are ready to bomb away with the Dolphins" or something like that!

He always did stuff for NBC
-
Now many cigarettes did he have before doing that voiceover that day?
-
That's I believe, Jackson Beck, who did the voice of Bluto in the old Popeye cartoons.

Miami 30 Denver 26 on sept 29, 1985. Marino passed for 390 yards.
It was the only regular season meeting between Marino and Elway before 1998. Yet it seemed like almost every preseason these 2 teams would meet on national tv game.
