Now I know you are an idiot if you don't think pharmaceutical drugs are toxic. They all are. From the most powerful prescription to the supposedly harmless over the counter drugs they are all toxic to the body. And let me ask you this. What did people do before all of these miracle pills came to be? And no one is suggesting to let anyone die of anything. I don't care what you say or how much knowledge you claim to have,the primary source of bad cholesterol is animal products and processed foods.

Red Rice Yeast is basically the same thing as Lovastatin. It's funny to me they way people will bash the statins then buy the exact same thing, but without any measurement of potency.

Vytorin may not be considered a statin, but it does have a statin in it. Vytorin is simvastatin and ezetimibe combined....so it does have characteristics of statins. I also do not believe that herbals have statistically significant results that suggest they work well. In my alternative medicine class back in pharmacy school, we looked up clinical studies for over 25 herbals and none of them had significant p values (meaning the results were not positive).

Pharmaceuticals it's about big corporations with a lot of money and power to throw around. I was using Aldera for skin cancer made me so sick I could not go to work. Then I used a natural remedy that shrinks my skin cancer and does not make me sick. At least my doctor made some money off of me. $700 dollars for 24 packs that made me ill. Some of these comments are ridiculous.All trials whether done by pharma companies or not point to the fact that the lower someones LDL-C the lower the risk of having a cardiac event. It spins me out that people who have no knowledge of med science are throwing around claims like statins or in this case statin + an absorption inhibitor are useless.Doctors and cardiologists the world over are among some of the smartest people if a drug didnt work they would use it.many are using stating themselves

@no49bus it was my understanding that vytorin is not a statin drug. it is supposed to be better because it is not a statin. red yeast rice used to lower bld cholestrol, until the pharmeceutical companies found out about it..then it lobbied to remove the ingredient out of red yeast rice that lowers cholestrol, and now, that useful ingredient has been removed.
